LAHORE – PTI Chairman Imran Khan has said that Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Institute management is going to court against baseless allegations of PML-N MNA Hanif Abbasi. Addressing a press conference here at the SKMCH on Wednesday, Imran Khan, who is also Chairman Board of Governors of the institute, termed allegations of Hanif Abbasi baseless. He said he had not used a single penny of the hospital for any other purpose.

“I have donated both the plots given by Punjab government in 1993 and 1997 to the hospital. Besides that, I have also donated Rs 20 million. Nawaz Sharif and his party should avoid doing politics on the hospital as it can damage foreign aid and treatment of poor cancer patients,” Imran added. The hospital is annually spending Rs 2 billion on the treatment of poor patients. I do not interfere in hospital matters and the entire system is transparent, he further said adding he would himself go to the court if Nawaz Sharif personally levelled allegations.

Referring to the 20th Amendment, he said no one would accept the interim set-up established with the mutual understanding of the PPP and the PML-N. He said both the PPP and the PML-N were corrupt and they were seeing the same fault in others.
