Senate polls, budget well on time: Wattoo


OKARA - Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo said on Wednesday that the government will hold Senate elections and announce the national budget well on time despite all conspiracies being hatched by the anti-democracy elements.
While addressing party workers and the mediamen here at Wasawewala, he said that the Prime Minister appearance in the Supreme Court on Monday which stood as testimony to the PPP government’s respect for the Judiciary and national institutions. “If the prime minister is disqualified, only time will decide who the new premier will be”, he pointed out.
Manzoor Wattoo claimed that the PML-N had started unwarranted propaganda against President Asif Zardari to divert public attention from its own failure and weaknesses. He asserted that the People’s Party had rendered more sacrifices for democracy than any other party in the country, adding that democracy will be emerged victorious in the next elections.
He added that it was only the opposition which was raising hue and cry for early elections; but the 180 million Pakistanis want elections to be held on their scheduled time.
The federal minister advised PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan not to waste their energies on such demands right now, as they would come to know their status once the general elections were held.
Other PPP leaders including MNA Mian Khurram Jehangir Wattoo and Mian Aamir Hayat Wattoo were also present on the occasion.
