RAWALPINDI  - The Punjab government has issued notification of awarding promotions in December every year to the current male and female Secondary School Teachers (SSTs) under the chief minister’s three-stage formula. As many as 35,000 secondary school teachers of the province expressed their delight on the issuance of notification. According to the notification, 50 percent of the teachers would remain in BPS-16, 35 percent senior teachers would be promoted to BPS-17, while 15 percent senior-most teachers would be promoted to BPS-18.

Central president of Punjab Elementary School Teachers (EST) Association, Aslam Gujjar and district president Shafiq Bhalwalia lauded the notification and distributed sweets. They said that their petition in the court has led to the issuance of the notification.
