ISLAMABAD - A local court Saturday summoned former military ruler Pervez Musharraf to appear before the court on March 1 in Ghazi Abdul Rashid and his mother Sahiba Khatoon murder case.

The additional district and sessions judge resumed the hearing of Ghazi Abdul Rashid murder case. During the proceedings, Akhtar Shah Advocate appeared before the court instead of lawyer Ilyas Siddiqui Advocate and submitted his power of attorney to represent Pervez Musharraf in the case while Tariq Asad Advocate appeared before the court on the behalf of complainant Haroon Rashid Ghazi.

Tariq Asad requested the court that it may direct the police to submit a new challan of the case since many witnesses had recorded their statements.

Therefore, the court instructed the police to submit a new supplementary charge sheet of the trial of Abdul Rashid Ghazi murder case before the next hearing.

In the meantime, the lawyer representing Musharraf submitted the application to grant exemption to the accused from hearing of the case for one day.

The court admitted the plea and exempted Musharraf from hearing while the judge also summoned him to appear to appear before it on March 1.
