Islamabad- A total of 184 candidates have filed their nomination papers to participate in Senate elections on March 5th.

According to sources in Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the first phase of submission of nomination papers for 52 seats of the Parliament’s Upper House completed on Friday.

Sources said nine candidates in Islamabad, 43 in FATA, 23 in Punjab, 28 in Sindh, 39 in KPK and 42 candidates submitted their nomination papers in Balochistan. In next phases of the election, ECP said, scrutiny of papers will be held on February 16th and 17th. The nomination papers could be challenged by February 21st while a final list of candidates will be issued on the February 25th. The polling is scheduled to be held in the National Assembly and all four provincial assemblies on March 5th.
