Rawalpindi - The police have failed to recover the 8-year-old son of a civil judge who was abducted by unknown kidnappers for ransom four months ago here from Gulshan-e-Iqbal area. The kidnappers have demanded Rs 1 million from the family as ransom.

Police have claimed that as many as 8 suspected kidnappers have been nabbed so far from different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) in connection with the missing child but they have yet to recover the child. A well-placed source told The Nation on Sunday that a police team of Saddar Bairooni have rounded up another suspected kidnapper from Orakzai Agency during an operation. The suspected kidnapper was taken to Rawalpindi on late Saturday night and locked up in police station, source added.

According to details, Fahad Yousaf, a student of class three, was kidnapped at 08:00pm on October 16, 2014 by unknown kidnappers when he was playing along with other children in his street at Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

A case was lodged with PS Saddar Bairooni under section 365-A and station house officer (SHO) was appointed as investigation officer of the case.

Talking to The Nation, SHO PS Saddar Bairooni Malik Allah Yar claimed that so far police had netted some 8 suspected kidnappers in connection with child abduction case and were grilling them after obtaining their physical remand from a court of law. He said that four more kidnappers were still at large but police would arrest them soon. He said that the kidnappers have demanded Rs 1 million as ransom from the victim family. He confirmed the arrest of an accused from Orakzai Agency.
