Three slain family members laid to rest

SIALKOT
Three members of a family killed over an old enmity the other day were laid to rest in their native graveyard near Head Marala on Sunday amid tight security.
Earlier, the grieved family of the deceased persons staged a demonstration and a sit-in near Dhalleywali-Head Marala by placing the bodies there. They chanted anti-police slogans and demanded early arrest of perpetrators and security of the rest of the family. They alleged that the police had earlier released accused Khalil who, also nominated in another murder case, along with his armed companions killed the three persons on Saturday.
On the report of Noor Hussain, the Head Marala police registered a triple murder case under sections 302, 149 and 148 PPC against nine accused including Akash, Ashfaq and Sheraz with no arrest so far.
The three persons had drowned in Upper Chenab Canal (UCC) as their car (LEC- 4154) plunged into it after being out of control as it had been attacked by their rivals with gunshots near village Sherpur.
The police said that the main reason behind this incident was old enmity.
