MIRPUR (AJK) -  Azad Jammu & Kashmir Accountability Bureau (AJK AB) summoned the Project Director for prolonged delay in completion of Rathua-Harayaam Bridge over Mangla Dam reservoir in Mirpur.

He will explain the cause of the continued inordinate delay in completion of the project. The Azad Jammu & Kashmir Accountability Bureau spokesperson said Chairman of the AJK Ehtesab (Accountability) Bureau Raja Muhammad Aslam Khan had visited the under-construction Rathua-Harayaam Bridge in Mirpur on September 28 last year to assess the pace of the construction work on the bridge.

The AB Chairman, during the inspection, had directed the Project Director for the earliest completion of the project. The Project Director had assured him of completing the construction of the bridge within the stipulated period.

But despite passage of the period of over six months, the Project director neither completed the project nor sent any progress report to the Accountability Bureau about the already much-delayed construction work on the much-needed bridge to link Mirpur city with the adjoining Islamgarh town.

The Chairman expressed strong dismay over the Project Director for not sending the progress report about the construction work for completion of the project within the stipulated time frame.
