SIALKOT -  Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Dr Nizamud Din has stressed a need for promoting industrial development research at the university-level under the supervision of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).

He said that the HEC would encourage the research work at every level for providing the latest research on industrial development research for the country’s industrial sector.

He stated this while addressing the participants of a seminar on advance banking ideology held at Govt College Women University (GCWU) Sialkot in active collaboration with the SBP.

He also underscored the need for chalking out the curriculum of the universities keeping in mind the future needs of the local industry. He said that it will also help provide the skilled work force to the industrial sector.

GCWU Vice Chancellor Dr Farhat Saleemi, Manager State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Sialkot Muhammad Ishaq Ahmed, President SCCI, VP of Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) Mian Usman Javaid, Director Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL) Waqas Akram Awan and others also addressed the seminar and highlighted the achievements, targets, goals and business needs of the Sialkot industry.

VISIT: A delegation of the newly recruited auditors, today, visited the Sialkot District Council during their study tour to Sialkot here. Divisional Director Local Funds Audit Gujranwala Division Abdul Rauf led the delegation.

During a meeting, the senior officials including Farooq Anwar  gave a detailed briefing to the delegates about the ongoing social-economic and human development  and public welfare projects being completed in Sialkot district’s all the 124 rural union councils. He said that the Sialkot District Council was spending billions of rupees for raising the living standard of the people belong to the rural areas of Sialkot district under supervision of Hina Arshad Warraich (Chairperson Sialkot District Council) as well.

The officials added that the District Council has assured the proper and honest use of these development funds, besides, ensuring the use of quality material and timely completion of all the ongoing development schemes under the supervision of the local elected representatives as well.
