NUST girl students to participate in Int’l Formula competition
ISLAMABAD: A group of girl students from National University of Sciences and Technology are enduring to produce a car to participate in the International Formula Student competition to be held on Silverstone car racing track, UK in July.
Through excessive effort and hard work, the 15-member “Team Auj” successfully secured its place as a registered participant of the International Formula Student competition. The initiative taken by the young students is expected to enhance women participation in motor-sports industry as these girls continue to utilise their skills and knowledge in designing and manufacturing a formula-style race car for the competition. The team is determined to land among the top-most teams of the competition. Team Auj has managed to win the support of some of the biggest companies in Pakistan and attract many sponsors through the unique and significant concept. It is demonstrating their exemplary skills to an international audience through Formula Student, enabling the world to see the real capability of Pakistani women.–APP
FJWU to organise int’l moot
on governance
RAWALPINDI: The administration of Fatima Jinnah Women University will organise 2nd international conference on governance and public policy in the varsity on February 18 (Sunday). Azad and Jammu Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan will be the chief guest, FJWU spokesperson said on Thursday. He said that the ceremony would also be attended by Vice Chancellor Dr Samina Amin Qadir, faculty members, students, educationists, government officials and dignitaries of national and international level.–Staff Reporter
Proclaimed offender arrested
ISLAMABAD: Shalimar Police arrested a proclaimed offender, Ghafoor Elahi Awan, during an action. According to the police, several cases were registered against Ghafoor in different police stations of the city including Golra, Ramna, Shalimar, Kohsar and Margalla.–Online
