SARGODHA: Scores of people reached a local court to file a petition against a local lawmaker for allegedly implicating them in fake cases as part of political victimisation on Thursday. Applicants including Jaffar, Taj Muhammad, Ramazan, Sohail and Waqas belonging to 102-SB village filed a petition in the court of Sargodha District and Sessions Judge Ameer M Khan contending that they were being punished for not voting for the local lawmaker in 2013 general election. They added that they were being implicated in fake cases; there families were being threatened and illegal constructions were being established on state land in the area. They asserted that all this was happening because they had not voted for the local MNA, adding "this is nothing but a grudge for political reasons."

DSJ Ameer M Khan sought record from the Sargodha district police officer of all cases registered against the applicants. He also ordered a judicial inquiry into the matter and directed Additional District and Sessions Judge M Yaqoob to submit report within four days. The hearing on that application adjourned till Feb 19, 2018.–Staff Reporter
