KARACHI - Judicial Magistrate (East) Malik Akhtar on Friday ordered to send four-year-old Marriyam, who survived the gory incident in which her younger sister four-month-old Fazailat was killed and buried in house by her parents, to hospital for a medical check-up. The court also ordered her production in the court on January 18. Marrium was brought to the court with her mother, accused Sana as she was kept in the lock-up at Saddar Women Police Station along with her. The court issued the orders on an application filed by the lawyers of Human Rights and Legal Aid (LHRLA). In the application LHRLA President Zia Ahmed Awan along with Advocate Abdul Hadi, Advocate Aman Khattak, Advocate Asman Ashraf and Advocate Samreen Langar submitted that the life of Marriyam was in danger at the hands of her mother in the lock-up. Therefore she should be sent to hospital for a medical check-up and later to SOS village for shelter and education. Earlier, the court remanded the couple - Nadeem and Sana who were arrested by the Zaman Town Police on charges of killing their infant daughter and burying her in their house. The couple mentally-retarded (faith-heeler) killed their four-month-old daughter and buried her in their house. While the couple also wanted to kill four-year-old Marriyam but the meantime police raid at their house saved her life. The gruesome incident surfaced when the Police, on the complain of the area people, broke into the house and found the body of the minor while Marriyam bound hand and foot. The Police have registered an FIR number 24/10 under Sections 302/34, 324 and 202 against them.
