LAHORE The 15th death anniversary of renowned Urdu poet Mohsin Naqvi was observed here on Saturday. Although no ceremony was organised by literary organisations but almost all TV channels broadcasted documentaries on his poetry and life and the newspapers published special editions to pay tribute to the poet. Mohsin Naqi was murdered in Lahore by sectarian extremists in 1996. Some people believe that he himself predicted his killings on the basis of his intuition. Mohsin contributed a lot to Urdu language. He was also a Shia elder who also composed a lot of religious poetry and known as poet of Ahl-e-Bait. His real name was Ghulam Abbas. He was born in Dera Ghazi Khan district.
