KARACHI (APP) - Shipping activity remained active at the Port where two ships carrying containers, and sugar were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Friday. Meanwhile four ships carrying containers,cement, furnace oil and edible oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim on same day. Berth occupancy was 45pc on Friday at the Port where a total five ships namely MV Glory, Leopard-B, Lagonda, Rain Bow and Galaxy were engaged at PQA berths to load / offload containers, cement, wheat, sugar and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours. A cargo volume of 32,111 tones comprising 21,553 tones imports and 10,558 tones exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,399 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours. A Containers ships MV Glory expected to sail on Saturday. Four ships MSN Anafi, Antje Wulff, Iron Monger and Chem Road Nova carrying containers, furnace oil and edible oil are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, FOTCO Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Saturday, 15th January.
