PESHAWAR (APP) - Tribal Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry (TACCI) has announced protest movement against Tribal Electricity Supply Company (TESCO) for suspending power supply to industrial units in Bara, Khyber Agency. The laid off workers of industrial units closed due to the suspension of power supply have also joined industrialists in their protest and threatened to set up hunger strike camps to protest the act of the power distribution company. Presiding over an emergency meeting of the chamber's executive committee president, TACCI, Fayyaz Ali Khan protested the attitude of the company and said that industrialists have concern of kidnapped employees, but still power supply to their units has been cut off. He said they condemn the kidnapping of TESCO employees and termed it a gruesome act, but the management is bracketing industrialists with kidnappers and creating problems for them. Former president, TACCI, Mohammad Akbar Khan advocate in his address said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in general and FATA in particular are facing problems due to terrorism and militancy and the prevailing uncertain situation had increased their problems. Akbar Khan called for issuance of directives for the restoration of power supply to the industrial units of Bara in larger national interest to check unemployment of tribesmen. Senior vice president, Usman Ghani, vice presidents, Gul Ayaz Khan, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman and executive members also spoke on the occasion.
