LAHORE – A 28-year-old government employee was shot dead by neighbours, following children fight here in Sanda area on Sunday, police said. Resident of Abdali Chowk, Nadeem Aftab, was shot dead by gunmen at the doorstep. The killers fled away from the crime scene within no time.
Eyewitnesses told the police that Tabish alias Noona along with his nine other accomplices exchanges harsh words with his neighbour Aftab. They took out guns and opened fire at him. The police later reached the spot and removed the dead body to the morgue for an autopsy.
Police investigators said that killers shot dead Aftab, an employee of the GPO, over the fight of their children with his kids. The children fought over some minor issue while they were playing in the street together.
The police have registered the murder case against Tabish and his nine other accomplices on the complaint of Waseem Aftab, brother of the deceased. Further investigations are underway.
Meanwhile, a mother of four was killed when a stray bullet pierced through her neck under mysterious circumstances here in Shalimar Area police said on Sunday. Muqaddas Parveen, 26, was strolling on the rooftop of her residence situated at college road in Shalimar police vicinity when she sustained a stray bullet in the neck. She was rushed to a local hospital, where she died later. The police have registered the case and are investigating.
Youth crushed: A 25-year-old man was crushed to death under a train here in Cantonment Area, police and rescue workers said on Sunday.
Police said that the man, yet to be identified so far, was crossing the railway line when a Lahore-bound train hit him. He sustained multiple injuries and died on the spot. The police have removed the body to the morgue.
In another incident, a 25-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances from Data Darbar Area, police said.
The police investigators said that the man, unidentified so far, was lying dead alongside a road as they rushed to spot. Some passers-by spotted the dead body and contacted the police. The police, after reaching the spot, said that the man apparently was a drug addict who died from lack of drugs.
Further investigations are underway.
