BAHAWALNAGAR - College teachers observed a complete academic boycott across the district on the call of Punjab Professors and Lecturer Association.
According to detail, professors of Government Postgraduate College for Boys Bahawalnagar held a protest meeting in which speakers demanded the Punjab government that genuine demands of college teachers should be accepted forthwith otherwise protest movement would be continued. On the occasion, they also warned that the professors would also boycott the approaching annual examinations and paper marking if their demands were not met.
A unanimous resolution was also adopted during the meeting, demanding the Punjab government that teachers should be given one step up-gradation and time scale promotion under five level formula. Resolution also demanded that the services of contract lecturers should also be regularized forthwith in addition to the setting up of a separate college teachers foundation and teaching allowance as well.
