Woman, 4 kids swept away by flash floods

QUETTA - At least five people, including a woman and four children were swept away by flash floods in a seasonal river in Pishin district, some 60 km away from Quetta, on Sunday.
According to Levies officials, two sisters and their four children were travelling in a pick-up to their house in Nalay Achakzai from parent’s house Manzaray in Pishin district when their vehicle was stuck near Barshor Nadi, a seasonal river, which overflowed due to heavy rains.
Later, flood swept away the vehicle.  Consequently, a woman identified as Naseba, her two children Ajmal, 8, Suleman, 3, and her sister’s son 6-year-old Azizullah and 8-month-old Bismallah drowned. However, local people rescued another woman, her brother and driver of vehicle. Officials of Balochistan Levies confirming the incident said that four children and a woman drowned when their vehicle was swept away in flash floods while three persons were rescued.
Levies Force personnel and some rescue workers rushed to the area soon after being informed about the incident. The bodies were shifted to hospital and later handed over to their families for burial.
