HBL in trouble against SNGPL in President’s Trophy final





KARACHI - Pakistan Twenty20 captain M Hafeez in a sensational spell took three for nine runs as Habib Bank collapsed to pride denting 90/7 in their first innings in reply to Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL) total of 283 on second day of the  five day President's Cricket Trophy final here at the National stadium on Tuesday.
Brought into attack shortly after lunch break, the spinner shell shocked the reputed bankers batsmen fell like nine pins in the bowling alley. None of the HBL batsmen had a clue to deal with the spinner.
Ahmed Shahzad played a fighting unbeaten 37 in 88 balls and watched his colleague take a procession to the pavilion. HBL skipper Younus Khan got out without scoring.
Earlier in the day Sui Northern Gas witnessed the first collapse of the day when their first innings folded at 283 all out. Medium pacer Fahad Masood finished the innings with five for 67 in the presence of Umar Gul which took two for 49.
SNGPL which resumed at overnight total of 189 for four added 94 runs for the remaining six wickets. Misbah ul Haq top scored with 85 and Ali Waqas added 83. It was, he, who held after collapse of the Gas team.
