KRL formally handed over PPFL trophy




KARACHI - KRL and PIA played a goalless draw in the last match of the 9th Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) championship here at the KPT ground on Tuesday.
KRL thus with highest 71 points retained the national crown and won Rs. 0.7 million as winners prize. KRL ended the 240-match league which lasted over four months with the title which they had already won long before the final match.
KRL finished at the top of the points table. PIA which won one point from the final encounter finished at 8th spot with 35 points. KESC finished second with 62 on the points table and won Rs 0.5 million as runners up prize. Muslim FC Chapman in third place with 62 got Rs. 0.4 million .Pakistan Army was placed fourth with 58 points. PAF fifth 53, NBP sixth 44, Navy 7th with 35 points, Afghan FC Chaman took 9th place with 34 points. Baloch FC Noushki 10th, Wapda 11th,  HBL 12th, KTP 13th and ZTBL 14th.
PMC Athletic FC and Wohaib Club which finished at the bottom of the league on 15th and 16th were relegated.  Their places in the premier football league had been taken over by Pak Afghan Clearing Agency and Faisalabad University Football Club which finished at the top of the division B league.
