KARACHI -The University of Karachi (KU) will provide expert services to KMC for technical cooperation in plantation on important corridors of the city, breeding and better feeding of animals in Karachi Zoo and Safari Park while KMC will provide grant and two buses for better traveling facilities for KU students.This was decided in a meeting between Karachi Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed and KU Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Qaisar.On the occasion, Dean of Management Sciences Dr Abuzar Wajidi, Dean of Science Dr Shahana Urooj Kazmi, Dean of Pharmacy Dr Ghazala Rizwani, Dean of Special Education Dr Shahida, Consultant to Shaikhul-Jamia Dr Suhail Barkati, Head of Political Science Department Dr Muhammad Ahmed Qadri, Head of Public Relations Department Farheen Zehra and other teachers were also present.Karachi Administrator said that the University of Karachi should provide training for the KMC schools teachers so that trained teachers could provide quality education to thousands of students in government schools.He said that the KMC schools buildings were being renovated whereas members of national and provincial assemblies had made 22 KMC schools as model where along with other subjects English was being taught and standard of those schools could be compared with any other private school.KU VC Dr Qaisar said that the grant which government provides to the University of Karachi was hardly enough for paying salaries hence it was necessary to establish a fund for the betterment and development of the university where traders, investors, and former university students could submit their funds.He informed that 27 thousand students were getting education in the university and various types of exams were also held in the university due to which university bears extra burden as above 30 thousand students appear in B.Com exam for which a separate examination hall would be built.Karachi Administrator said that the University of Karachi was playing an important role in promoting education and all departments and personalities should together work for the betterment and development of the university.
