MARDAN - Several politicians, affiliated with different political parties, traders and industrialists, who had joined Awami National Party (ANP) soon after it came into power, are now quitting the party in Mardan, the hometown of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti.

A large number of several traders and industrialist and other personalities of the district who joined ANP when it came into power after the 2008 elections and wanted to gain personal benefits are quitting the party. Sources said that well-known industrialist Dilawar Khan who after the 2008 elections joined the party and included in the close friends and partner of Senator Mohammad Azam Khan Hoti, father of Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, and remained with him in all types of functions.

Sources added that differences have been created between him and Azam Khan Hoti. Sources added that like this Khan Akbar Afridi has also very close relations with Mohammad Azam Khan Hoti and Chief Minister Ameer Hiader Khan Hoti and his differences is also created with both the leaders and he has also quit the party. Sources added that Khan Akbar Afridi is also witness on that agreement made between the residences of Palato village and Abdul

Wali Khan University (AWKU) after implantation of section 4 on their houses and lands in 2010. Sources added that now the university administration and local administration want to take hold of those houses and demolish the house to continue the construction work of

AWKU. Sources added that Khan Akbar Afridi under ground allegedly motivated the residents of Palato majority of whom belong to his tribe not to vacant the houses and oppose it. Sources added that after creating deference’s with Azam Khan Hoti the mentioned person allegedly under ground want to create hurdles in this connection and created problems for the local administration and Azam Khan Hoti. Former district vice-president of ANP Humayun Khilji, Sadbar Khan, Sarwar Khan, Riaz Khan, Mohammad Bilal Khan Hoti, Zahir Mohammad Hoti,

Haji Raza Khan, Haji Saeedul Wahab, Qazi Fazle Rabbani, Haji Mohammad Nabi, Farooq Khan, Subedar Habibur Rehman and Wasal Khan. Raees Khan, who is nephew of former MPA Haji Raza Khan, has already quit the ANP. The sources said that the ANP need true leadership in Mardan and the workers were disappointed for being ignored by the party leaders due

to this reason several of others party activist has also decided to quit the party. Sources said that former federal minister Khwaja Mohammad Khan Hoti who recently joined PML-N and his son Umar Farooqe Khan who are considered main rivals of Azam Khan Hoti has also started their campaign in all over the district and especially in the provincial constituency PK 23 from where Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti is elected member of provincial assembly in the 2008 election.

Meanwhile, KPK Chief Minister, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has offered keys of busses to administration of different girls’ colleges in the province during a simple gathering at Chief Minister House on Tuesday.

He said that the present government has spent considerable resources on promotion of higher education particularly girls education.

He said that spreading the light of education was the only way forward to battle specific circumstances confronting the region.

It merits a mention here that the CM had promised these colleges for provision of buses on visits to concerned districts. He said that girl’s colleges were in dire needs of buses for transport.

Keys of buses were offered to principal of Government Girls College Sarai Saleh Haripur, Government Girls Degree College Boni Chitral, Government Girls Post Graduate College Kohat, Government Girls Degree College Khwaza Khela Swat, Government Girls Degree College Lund Khwar Mardan and Government Girls Degree College No. 2 Haripur. Principal of the colleges received the Keys while drivers of the buses were also present on the occasion. Provincial Minister for Higher Education Qazi Muhammad Asad, Secretary Farah Hamid, Muhammad Kabir Afridi, Chief Planning Officer Higher Education Muhammad Ihsan, Muhammad Zaman, Javed Akhbar, Central President PSF Bashir Khan Sherpao, ANP district officer bearers Haripur, Chitral and Kohat and others were also present on the occasion. Principal of the entire colleges thanked the chef minister on fulfilling transport needs of their respective colleges and steps for promotion of Higher and girls education.
