ISLAMABAD - Samar Anjum made the biggest upset as she beat Pakistan No 1 squash player Saadia Gul 3-1 on the last day of female trials matches held to select 4-member Pakistan junior female team for the upcoming Asian Junior Team Squash Championship to be held in Korea,.

Samar maintained winning streak by winning all the matches. Samar won the first game 11-9, but Saadia bounced back and took second game 11-4. Samar proved her superiority and won the next two games 11-8 and 11-7 to top the trial matches.

Samar played a total of 19 games, won 18 and lost one while Saadia played 21 games, won 15 and lost six. Riffat Khan won 15 and lost 7  and the fourth player selected in team, Faiza Zafar won 12 and lost 9 games.

In the other matches of the day, Madina Zafar beat Amna Latif 3-1  despite losing first game 9-11 fought back to win next games 11-4, 11-5 and 11-9. Faiza Zafar beat Muniza Nasir 3-0. The score was 11-3, 11-3 and 11-4.

In the male category: Tayyab Aslam won the 10th match in a row in as many matches to book his place in team by beating Bilal 3-0. The score was 11-9, 11-7 and 11-8 and won second match against Israr 3-0.

Ammad Farid beat Asim Khan 3-1. The score was 11-8, 11-7, 5-11 and 13-11 and beat Ali Bokhari 3-2 in second match.  Bilal Zakir made the biggest upset of the day as he beat Ali Bokhari 3-2. Kashif Asif beat Babrak Khan 3-2. Israr Ahmed beat Kashif 3-0. Salman Hashmi beat Hamza Imtiaz 3-0 in first match and then beat Babrak Khan 3-0 in second match..

Tayyab Aslam qualified for the final selection while Bilal Zakir, Ammad Farid and Ali Bokhari are strong favorites to book their places for the Asian Juniors championship.
