KHYBER AGENCY - Militants late on Monday night attacked a security forces checkpost in Shalober area of tehsil Bara in Khyber Agency, sparking clashes that killed six security personnel and four terrorists overnight, sources said Tuesday.The sources said militants weapons attacked on the forces post located in Shalober area. Four on duty troops received fatal bullets wounds in attack and killed on the spot. However, the force retaliated and shot dead four militants , sources added.The central spokesman of Lashkar-e-Islam, the defunct militant organization of Managl Bagh, claimed in a telephone call from an undisclosed location that the men of banned out had killed six security personnel and two Khasadars, besides kidnapping scores of them. The LI spokesman warned that a tit for tat reply will be given to the forces. He said the forces were usurpers and threatened that if the forces killed detainees belonging to LI, the same treatment would be meted out to the kidnapped personnel of security forces. Meanwhile, the Jamrud political administration on Tuesday demolished house of an alleged abductor. Official and local sources said the residence of a tribesman, Haji Ghalib Sekandar Khel, was bulldozed after he was found guilty of kidnapping an Afghan. national. Ghalib, however, denied the accusations and said he had some business issues with the abductee. Agencies add: “Around 100 militants attacked an FC checkpost in the Shalober area of Bara in Khyber tribal region on Monday night, which triggered a firefight,” said a security official to a foreign news agency seeking anonymity. The fighting took place in the Khyber district, where troops are frequently locked in clashes with Lashkar-e-Islam.Officials said four paramilitary soldiers and two tribal policemen were killed, and 16 other personnel were wounded.The area is cut off to journalists and aid workers so it was not possible to confirm the death toll independently.A spokesman for Lashkar-e-Islam said it carried out the attack but denied that any of its fighters were killed.“We took four soldiers hostage as well. There was no loss of life on our side in the clashes,” said spokesman Abur Rasheed Lashkari in a text message.
