Couple, son die in road mishap

HAFIZABAD
A biker his wife and their son were killed on-the-spot when a recklessly tractor-trolley hit their bike near Mallah Shashoo on Lahore-Sargodha Lahore on Wednesday.
According to police source, Arshad Ali along with his wife Zubaida Bibi and minor son Zohaib Ali was returning from Sukheke to Mian Ali Dogran on his bike when the tractor-trolley rammed against his bike causing their instant death.
The driver of tractor-trolley managed his good escape after the mishap and the bodies of the deceased have been shifted to the morgue. The police have registered a case and are investigating. Later, the villagers blocked the road to protest against the inaction of the police for not arresting the tractor driver.
THEFTS: The villagers of Manianwala, Nawan Shehr, Naurozpur, Chhani Thathlan, Ganjianwala, Rasulpur Tarar and other adjoining villages of Jalalpur Bhattian police station have expressed grave concern over the rising incidents of cattle-lifting and bike snatching.
They called upon the police to intensify patrolling in the area to prevent day-to-day cattle-lifting and robbery incidents. According to the villagers, precious buffaloes of Muhammad Sharif, Jamshaid Iqbal, Shan Ali, Sarwar Dar and others were lifted away by the rustlers and police have failed to arrest any of the accused.
