Grenades hurled at house of KPK CM’s adviser

KARAK - Militants attacked the house of Khyber Pakhtunkhwah Chief Minister’s Adviser on Prisons Malik Qasim Khan Khattak with hand-grenades on Wednesday. However, no loss of life was reported in the incident.
Some unidentified assailants hurled two hand-grenades on the house at the main Indus Highway near Fateh Sheri Chowk. One of the hand-grenades could not explode, while the other went off, damaging main gate of the house.
After being informed, police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the entire area. Police also apprehended several suspects and shifted them to unidentified location for further investigation. However, their names were not disclosed.
COP KILLED IN PESHAWAR BLAST
Staff Reporter from Peshawar adds: A policeman was killed and another received injuries when a remote-controlled explosive device exploded near a police checkpost in Regi area on Tuesday.
Police said that the incident occurred when police personnel were on routine duty inside the checkpost. The blast killed one policeman and injured another.
Local people rushed to the site and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment.
The killed cop was identified as Johar Azam while the injured was identified as Mohammad Iqbal. Police also recovered two more remote control devices during search operation.
2 VOLUNTEERS KILLED IN KHYBER
Ahmad Nabi from Khyber Agency adds: Two volunteers of Tawheed-ul-Islam (Zakhakhel Peace Lashkar) were killed in an improvised explosive device blast planted by unknown militants near their post here in Katta Kanrai area of Bazaar Zakhakhel in Khyber Agency on Wednesday.
Official and local sources informed that the armed volunteers of the peace lashkar (militia) were on their routine duties at a post in Landi Kotal,
sub-division of Khyber Agency, when they were hit by Improvised Explosive Device (IED), killing two of them on the spot. The deceased were identified as Sajid Shah, son of Shamoot Khan, and Yar Khan, son of Kashmalo.
It is pertinent to mention here that the peace lashkar comprising local tribesmen has been constituted with intention to block the infiltration of militants into Bazaar Zakhakhel area of Tirah Valley.
Meanwhile, a minor boy namely Naimatuallh ended his life by shooting himself with pistol here in Ashrafkhel area of tehsil Landi kotal, official and local sources said.
