OKARA-An eight years old girl was raped in a her house in village 54/2L while a 12 year old girl was abducted and gang-raped by three fiendish youth here on Monday.
The girl was alone at home when her cousin Mujahid came there and forcibly raped her and escaped. The neighbour rushed the girl to the nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, the 12-year-old girl was abducted and raped forcibly. The girl of village 35/2R was going to a village shop to buy something. In her way, Jamshed, Shahbaz and Shahida picked her up and carried her to crops where Shahbaz raped the girl in presence of his two accomplices. Then the three criminals escaped.
On the other side, former Tehsil nazim Jameel Akhtar said that the Punjab rulers had failed to provide protection of honour, property and life for the common man despite having all resources.
Talking to the media persons, he said the Punjab police had just one point that they have to obey only and only CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif's directions and orders.
He said had the Kasur police sanely dealt with the previous heinous incidents, the criminals would have been arrested long ago. He added the police had complete knowledge about the citizens inhabiting up-to the suburbs of the town.
They could have individually checked every house of the town as to how many persons lived in that abode as such incidents could only be committed at a deserted place. The persons living alone in city houses could be marked and identified with the circumstances, he said. But, he added, there were special modern police methods to trace out a crime.
He said it was unfortunate that Sharif family had been ruling in the Punjab for the longest period, but the rulers could not prepare a proper security plan for the safety and security of the people. The Sharifs could go on drumming for their good governance but the heart-rending incident of Zainab in Kasur had proved that the Throne of Raiwind had utterly failed.
On the other side, the district administration said that it would not leave the sugarcane growers at the mercy of the sugar mills. Deputy Commissioner Saima Ahad during a visit to the Baba Fareed Sugar Mills, warned the mills administration that if any deduction in the weight or payment to farmers was made, original receipt was not issued, severe legal action would be taken against the mills administration. She also talked to the farmers expressing that the mills was bound to pay them Rs180 per 40kg.
She also directed the mills administration to run the mills at its full capacity and keep in view the comfort and facility of the farmers. She also visited the Mills Facility Centre. Meanwhile, the DC also inaugurated a polio campaign at the DHQ Hospital.
