Abbasi, Shehbaz hold talks with Nawaz

LAHORE - PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif on Monday chaired a consultative meeting of the party at his Raiwind residence to discuss a host of issues including the pace of work on ongoing development projects and the upcoming Senate and general elections.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Khawaja Saad Rafique attended the meeting.

Reportedly, former Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen was also present on the occasion.

Sources privy to the meeting said that Nawaz Sharif directed the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to ensure timely completion of the ongoing development projects in the country.

The meeting also decided to hold a public rally in Gujranwala on January 19 to be addressed by the Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and another one at Haripur to be addressed by Mian Nawaz Sharif the following day on January 20.

The issue of Opposition’s planned protest on January 17 in Lahore was also discussed in the meeting, according to the sources.

Also, Mayram Nawaz visited NA-120 on Monday to review the ongoing uplift projects and to discuss various issues being faced by the area. She went to the office of party MPA Majid Zahoor and chaired a meeting in this regard.
