Pakistan Martial Arts Centre annual sports
LAHORE - The annual sports gala of Pakistan Martial Arts Centre was held here with great zeal and fervour. A great number of club students in different belts, along with their parents, were present on the occasion. The kids exhibited their prowess by breaking the tiles, rolling over the sticks and nunchucks while some karatekas presented very skillful ‘katas’ which amused the spectators to larger extent. Club head Dr Rizwan said that he has opened this club with one aim in mind that is to save the youth from bad companies and deeds and teach them self defence. “This game makes the kids physically and mentally strong. So in the current era, every kid must learn karate in order to make them healthy, fit and wise. “Although we have been utilizing all our resources to prepare the kids for not only self-defence but also for local and national level competitions yet unfortunately, we have no support of government. Often ministers visit our centre, appreciate our work but when it comes to help us financially for the well being of young kids, they are mostly found reluctant to do so,” he added. He urged the government and corporate sector to come forward and support this sport, which can save the youth from bad things and prepare them for self defence. In the end, the top performers were handed over shields and prizes.–Staff Reporter
