KARACHI (PPI) - Alleged ringleader of an inter-provincial car-lifter gang was arrested red-handed while trying to lift a car within Shahra-e-Faisal police jurisdictions on Tuesday. Police overpowered the accused, identified as Mumtaz Gopang, outside Millennium Shopping Mall. He disclosed to police that his eight-member gang had so far lifted over 100 vehicles in Karachi and sold them in interior Sindh and Balochistan. Police said Mumtaz had been many times arrested and jailed, but he indulged in crimes after being released on bail. The recovery of many lifted vehicles was expected from his possession.
