ISLAMABAD Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has reiterated that menace of terrorism could be crushed through political determination and national unity. He was addressing at the passing out parade of 35th common batch of Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) at the National Police Academy here on Thursday. The premier said that backbone of terrorists has been broken and they would not be allowed to carry out their nefarious designs. He said that government was determined that with the help of people, Pakistan would defeat those who wanted to occupy our way of life, culture and traditions through terrorist activities. We are destined to success against terrorists who are enemies of Pakistan and humanity, he added. He lauded the role of law enforcement agencies against terrorism and paid rich tributes to those who rendered sacrifices while fighting against terrorists. He directed the administration of Police Academy to follow best training practices of international standard. Prime Minister appreciated womens inclusion in police and said that 10 percent quota reserved for the women in civil service was being implemented in letter and spirit. He also announced Rs 5 lakh for the best all-rounder police ASP Mustansar Feroz. Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik and Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Kaleem Imam were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion Commandant Police Academy Syed Shabir Hussain congratulated the ASPs and thanked to PM for gracing the occasion.
