AIOU admissions from 1st Aug

Islamabad - Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will open its secondary school certificate (SSC) to PhD-level admissions for the semester autumn 2015 in various disciplines from 1st August across the country including Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and other areas. Last date for submission of the admission form will be 4th September.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui has approved an admission plan that includes setting up prospectus’ sale points at its main campus, regional and coordinating offices throughout the country.
He also directed the admission department to provide maximum facilities to the applicants in taking the admission in their desired discipline as well as ensuring availability of admission forms at nearest places. The vice-chancellor also advised all regional directors to set up special camp at their offices for the guidance of the students. He assured the applicants that proposals and complaints will be properly addressed. For this purpose, a comprehensive online ‘Complaint Management Centre’ has been set up at the university’s main campus to provide an easy access to its students to get immediate response of their queries. Through this centre, students across the country could approach the university for addressing any complaint, relating to admission, examination or delivery of books.
Admission forms and prospectuses could be obtained from the sale points at the university’s main campus, 44 regional campuses and more than 100 coordinating offices across the country. Admission forms along with the required fee can be submitted at the nationwide branches of First Women Bank, Bank Alfalah, Allied Bank and at the designated branches of National Bank of Pakistan and Muslim Commercial Bank. The details of designated branches are available in the prospectuses as well as in the regional offices.
According to Director Admissions Syed Zia-ul-Hasnain, admission forms and prospectus of Matric, FA and BA level programmes for overseas Pakistanis in the Middle East would be placed at the University’s website del.aiou.edu.pk.
Computerised admission forms will soon be sent to all the continuing students. The university will also place the same at its official website.
Admission of PGD would be offered in Islamic studies (general/Quran & Tafseer), chemistry, Iqbal studies, Shari’ah, Urdu, mass communication and Pakistan languages & literature. The admissions of MS/M.Phil will offer in Islamic Studies (General/Quran & Tafseer), Arabic, Shari’ah, Chemistry, Community Health & Nutrition, Iqbal Studies and Mass Communication. The admission of MSc will include economics, Pakistan studies, statistics and gender & women studies while the admissions of MBA will offer in HRM, marketing, IT and banking & finance.
The admissions of master would be offered in Arabic, Islamic studies, Urdu and dietetics nutrition. Under postgraduate diploma, the admissions would be offered in gender & women studies and HRM.
Under teacher education programme, the admission of PTC, BEd (general/Arabic), associate degree would be offered in tourism management, hotel management, hospital management, accounting & finance, banking & finance, human resource management, IT management and marketing management.
The director admission said that under bachelor’s programme, BS (computer science, mass communication, BCom, library and information science and BA (general) and intermediate admissions will include FA (general), ICom, matric, under Dars-e-Nizami programme, BA (Shahadat-ul-Alia), FA (Sanvia Khasa), matric (Sanvia Asma), certificate courses (duration 6 months), technical and vocational certificate courses, agricultural certificate courses (duration 6 months), open tech courses and short term educational programmes will also be offered in the forthcoming semester.
