Rawalpindi - A prosecution witness told an anti-terrorism court here on Wednesday that an accused of Benazir Bhutto’s murder was his younger brother who had been killed in a US drone attack in Mohmand Agency.

Behlool Khan, an official of Mohmand Agency, said this before the Special Judge of Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), Rai Muhammad Ayub Marth, while recording his statement during Benazir Bhutto assassination case as witness. He further stated that Abdullah alias Saddam, the main accused in BB assassination case, was his younger brother whom he got admitted in Darul Aloom, Akora Khattak, for getting Islamic education.

However, the seminary administration told the family on May 31, 2005 that Abdullah left the seminary and went to some unknown place, he told to the court. Later the family received information that Saddam was killed in a US drone attack in Mohmand Agency of FATA. “We went to Mohmand Agency and retrieved his dead body and buried it in our native town,” Behlool Khan said in his testimony. The court made statement of Behlool Khan as part of proceedings.

Meanwhile, two others prosecution witnesses Sub-Inspector Iftikhar Hussain and Nawaz also appeared before the court to record their statements but Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Special Public Prosecutor Chaudhry Azhar Ali rejected the prosecution witnesses.

On the other hand, Foreign Office US Desk Incharge Shakeeb Raffique also faced the court who informed the judge that they had written a letter to US State Department to decide the date for provision of video link facility to US author Mark Siegel in New York to record his statement in BB assassination case. On this, the court directed the In-charge to present written report on the next date of hearing on July 23, 2015.

Former City Police Officer Syed Saud Aziz, former SP Khurram Shehzad, who are accused in the high profile case and are on bail, along with five other accused arrested in connection with BB murder case were also present in the courtroom.
