Call to ensure enforcement of ban on rallies on The Mall

LAHORE - The businessmen have urged the district government to solve their issues, which are coming in the way of smooth running of businesses, on priority.
The LCCI Senior Vice President Mian Nauman Kabir was talking to the Commissioner of Lahore Abdullah Khan Sumbal here at his office along with the Executive Committee Members. LCCI Executive Committee Members Raja Hamid Riaz, Kamal Mahmood Amjad Mian and Rizwan Akhter Shamsi also spoke on the occasion.
Mian Nauman Kabir said that Lahore has become a hub of trade and economic activities but a number of issues including traffic mess, lack of parking facility and violation of rules and regulations are hampering the growth of trade and industry.
He urged the Commissioner Lahore to ensure implementation of ban on protests at Mall Road as it is hitting the trade and economic activities hard.
The LCCI Senior Vice President said that businesses of traders of Mall Road have come to a grinding halt due to protests and rallies which are a clear violation of ban imposed on such activities.
Mian Nauman Kabir said that though the government had banned the protests but implementation in letter and spirit was a problem.
He said that traffic mass is also causing undue damage to the trade and economic activities in the city. City District Government would have to evolve a plan to resolve this issue at the earliest. He also stressed the need for parking plazas at various city markets.
Commissioner Lahore Abdullah Khan Sumbal said that Nasir Bagh would be allocated for rallies & protests and ban on protests at the Mall should be implemented strictly.
