LAHORE (PR) - Provincial Minister for Agriculture Dr Farrukh Javed presided over 105th meeting of Board of Directors of Punjab Seed Corporation. The minister gave approval to the promotion of four officers of Grade-18 and 19. Special Secretary Agriculture Syed Guizar Hussain Shah, Member Board Shah Nawaz Warraich, Muhammad Aslam, MD Punjab Seed Corporation Khaqan Babar, Nasir Saleem, Tariq Mehmood, Ajmal Haider Shah, Hafiz Inam and Shahbaz Shah attended the meeting. The minister said that Seed Corporation is the only institution which is providing high quality certified seed to the farmers at cheaper rates. He said that Punjab Seed Corporation has the leading role in the industry of seeds. Dr Farrukh Javed said that Chief Minister Punjab wants development of agriculture sector and green revolution is his dream. He assured that more than five thousand acres land will soon be retrieved from lessee and dialogue is continuing with them.

The provincial minister on the recommendation of MD Punjab Seed Corporation Khaqan Babar promoted Nasir Saleem to Grade 20 and ordered to continue as Deputy Managing Director whereas Aslam Mansoor was promoted to Grade 19 on regular basis and posted as Director Finance. Khalid Mehmood Shahzad was promoted to Grade 19 on regular basis and posted as Director Admin whereas Zahid Ishaq was promoted to Grade 19 on regular basis and ordered to continue as Director Farms.

Earlier, Dr. Farrukh Javed stressed upon Board Members to upgrade the plants of Punjab Seed Corporation. He further said that procurement, marketing and processing sections are of great importance, therefore, these should be further strengthened. The Agriculture Minister said that Punjab Seed Corporation set up in 1976 is the backbone of agriculture sector. No doubt farmers allover Pakistan completely trust in certified seed of Punjab Seed Corporation and it is also popular at international level.
