Lahore - The Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust (NPT), in collaboration with the Pakistan Movement Workers Trust, observed the 27th of Ramzanul Mubarak as the Yaum-i-Qayam-i-Pakistan (Pakistan Foundation Day) on Wednesday at Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan.

This tradition was set by the noted journalist and former NPT chairman later Dr Majid Nizami, whose day of demise coincides with the Yaum-i-Qayam-i-Pakistan, the 27th of Ramzan-ul-Mubarak.

The ceremony was chaired by the former president and NPT Chairman Rafique Tarar, who urged the audience to try their best to propagate the teachings of the Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Muhammad Iqbal while setting the young generation on the right path.

Those who spoke on the occasion included NPT vice chairman Prof Dr Rafique Ahmad, Chief Jutice (retd) Mian Mehboob Ahmad, Dr Parveen Khan, Dr Tahir Raza Bukhari and Qayyum Nizami. The attendees included Col (retd) Jamshaid Ahmad Tareen, Begum Safia Ishaq, Dr Ajmal Niazi, Rehmat Ali Javaid, Col (retd) Ikram Ullah Khan, Rana Muhammad Arshad and a large number of the intelligentsia.

Dr Rafique Ahmad exhorted the nation to implement the thoughts and ideas of the Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Muhammad Iqbal. The other speakers also underlined the need to resort to the ideas and reflections of our national heroes and spend their time and energy to transform Pakistan into the ideal state of their vision. At the end, Maulana Muhammad Shafi Josh led a session of prayers for the peace and prosperity of Pakistan and for the salvation and elevation of the soul of Dr Majid Nizami.
