Power tariff hike for K-Electric consumers notified

Islamabad - Ministry of Water and Power on Wednesday issued notification of up to 80 per cent increase in electricity tariff for K-Electric consumers.
According to the notification, electricity prices for domestic consumers has been increased from Rs 2 to 4.28, owing to withdrawl of subsidy. Domestic users consuming between 201-300 units would now be charged additional Rs2.09, 301-700 would pay additional Rs3.67, while users consuming more than 700 units would now pay additional Rs. 2.09.
During peak hours, electricity per unit price has been increased to Rs4, while during off-peak hours domestic consumers would pay additional Rs. 4.28.
After the notification, new prices would be applicable immediately. Ministry of Water and Power has issued the notification, after NEPRA approved the electricity price increase for K-Electric consumers, recently.
