'Clean water' scarcity in world, Pakistan

According to WaterAid, an international non-profit organization, 850 million people in world are deprived of clean water.

Furthermore, by 2030, a large number of people in about 80 countries will hardly have access to clean water. Also, poor sanitation is likely to be an issue in 100 countries in the coming future.

Countries from around the globe are taking into account the works of Sustainable Development Goals that were concurred in 2015 at United Nations.

And not to forget, other necessary aims for nations like health and poverty cannot to be properly handled without the access to water.

Pakistan too, is one of the victims of water crises and it is predicted that if significant measures are not taken, Pakistan will be deprived of water by 2025.

Already facing floods and droughts constantly while simultaneously, poor leadership, political mayhem and failing to utilize the natural resources has made the water issue in Pakistan more complicated.

With dams and other systems like canals and barrages being mismanaged and the construction of new dams politicized, the work towards tackling the water seems to be stagnated.

Pakistan is an Agro-based economy where about 70 percent of the people are its dependents, it contributes in the gross domestic product (GDP) with about 25 percent and 70 percent of the exports are of the agricultural goods.

Therefore, the issue of water scarcity must be dealt with reasonable measures on urgent basis. coping the water is not only the need of the hour for countries around the globe but also for Pakistan, with unity and understanding for its importance.
