Indonesian envoy calls on Punjab governor

LAHORE   -   Indonesian Ambassador to Pakistan Adam Mulawarman Tugio met Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar at Governor House Lahore on Thursday. 

They discussed issues related to bilateral relations, current regional situation, Kashmir and Palestine. During the meeting, the Indonesian ambassador appreciated Pakistan’s role in eradicating terrorism and in Afghan peace process. Both agreed to promote bilateral relations and economic ties between the two countries as they stressed the need to solve Kashmir and Palestine issues for peace. The Punjab governor stated that Pakistan was among the top five importers of palm oil from Indonesia, adding that there were deep religious, cultural and trade ties between Pakistan and Indonesia which were getting stronger with each passing day. He said that Indonesia was an important trading partner of Pakistan. 

Apprising the Indonesian ambassador about the initiatives being given for the investors, he said that the Punjab government was establishing special economic zones to facilitate foreign investors where all facilities were being provided through one window operations. He said that the business community played an important role in the nation’s development and Pakistan was safe a country for foreign investment.

Indonesian ambassador Adam Mulawarman Tugio said that his country attached high value to historic brotherly relations with Pakistan. He said Indonesian investors were playing their role for Pakistan’s economic stability and development. He said that Pakistan’s sacrifices for peace and eradication of terrorism were applaudable. “We have always stood by Pakistan and will continue to stand by Pakistan on all issues including Kashmir”, he said.
