The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani left for China Wednesday on a five days official visit. He is visiting China on the special invitation of Chinese People Liberation Army (PLA). During his visit, the COAS is scheduled to meet senior military leadership of PLA and some Government officials, according to ISPR. He will discuss issues related to Pak-China defence cooperation and measures to further strengthen the bonds between the two Armed Forces as well as the Nations. Earlier, the COAS was seen off at Chaklala Airport by Lieutenant General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Chief of General Staff, other senior military officials and acting Chinese Ambassador.
