The government contractors have given five day's deadline to the government and district administration for the non payment of more than Rs 5 billion dues. According to details the contractors warned the government to stop all the ongoing development projects of the city if their dues were not paid. The contractors also threatened to start protest campaigns along with the laborers if their dues were not paid within the deadline date. Government Contractors Association's leader, Malik Kaleem Ullah said that the district administration is not paying attention to their worries adding that not a single bill has been cleared in the month of June. He said that the bills more than Rs 5 billion have been submitted in District Accounts Office, Rawalpindi but no adequate action regarding paying of these bills have been taken. District Accounts Officer Rawalpindi, Mazhar Iqbal Langrial said that the dues would be paid on June 18 after permission of the government.
