LAHORE The Punjab Olympics Association has lined up 23 events as part of the Olympics Day on June 23. The events will be organised by the respective federations in collaboration with the PbOA. The 23 sports competitions being conducted on Olympic Day at different venues. An official of the association said that as part of the programme of the International Olympic Committee, the Olympic Day is being observed by the Punjab chapter in collaboration with the Pakistan Olympic Association. The purpose behind the Olympic Day is to broaden the scope of activities to mark the founding of Olympic Movement. The following 23 sports competitions will be conducted on June 23, 2010 at different venues on the occasion of the Olympic Day:- Badminton at New Khan Club, Lawrence Road, Baseball at Pakistan Sports Board, Islamabad, Basketball at Government College University, boxing at Islamia College Civil Lines, cycling at Tour de Lahore Cycle Race, football at Model Town. & R A Bazar Ground, gymnastic at Attique Stadium, near Badshahi Masjid, handball at Agricultural University, Faisalabad, hockey at National Hockey Stadium, judo at PSB Coaching Centre Lahore, karate at PSB Coaching Centre Lahore, lawn tennis at Bagh-e-Jinnah, Netball at Govt. College, Satellite Town, Gujranwala, Squash at Squash Complex, Old Club Road, Swimming at F.C. College. table tennis at LUMS University, DHA, taekwondo at Crescent Sports Complex, Faisalabad, Wrestling at Boharanwali Ground, Faisalabad, Rugby at Rugby Ground, DHA, weightlifting at Punjab University, Old Campus, Canoeing at Minar-e-Pakistan, Rowing at Minar-e-Pakistan and Volleyball at Mozang High School, Mozang.
