LAHORE - Development funds stated in the budget statement are based on assumptions, while the Opposition will inform the masses about the hard facts in this regard during the budget debate, claims Ch Zaheer-ud-Din, Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly. He expressed these views while talking to newsmen at Opposition Chambers on Tuesday. He said the provincial government just gave a 'lollypop to the people of Southern Punjab in the budget. Ch Zaheer claimed that Chief Minister Punjab was habitual of expending 80 percent more than the allocated funds every year and he should control his spending. He said the provincial government should have presented a comparison of the Budget 2010-11 with the previous budget but it did not do so due to its disappointing performance last year. Opposition Leader asserted that the provincial government failed to come up with a comprehensive economic strategy even after the passage of three years.
