MUMBAI - The 32-year old Pakistan all-rounder, Shahid Afridi, who is likely to get 'clearance to play in English county, will be able to play nine Twenty20 matches, according to Tim Tremlett, the Director and Cricket Secretary at Hampshire County Cricket Club. Speaking exclusively over his mobile from England yesterday, he said: "If Afridi is cleared today (Thursday), then he will be able to appear in nine matches (all Twenty20s) for our County and his first match will be on June 24, against Gloucestershire", he added. "Had he been allowed to play earlier, he would have participated in 16 matches." Afridi was scheduled to make his Hampshire debut in their FL Twenty20 opener against Somerset last month. "Afridi's last match will be on July 15 before the quarterfinal and semi-final in the month of August. All our matches will be over by the end of August and therefore he will be able to fulfil his commitments for the international matches."
