Eid-ul-Fitr being celebrated with religious zeal, fervour today

Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated with religious zeal and fervor across the country today, reported Radio Pakistan.

Big Eid congregations were held at open places, mosques and eidgahs in all major cities and towns.  

The Ulema in their sermons highlighted the significance and philosophy of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Special prayers were offered for the progress and prosperity of the country and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.

Strict security measures are in place across the country to avoid any untoward incident.

ISLAMABAD

In Islamabad, the biggest Eid congregation was held at Faisal Mosque where government officials and envoys of Islamic countries offered Eid prayers.

Prime Minister Justice (Retired) Nasirul Mulk offered his Eid prayer at the mosque in prime minister house in Islamabad.

The prime minister prayed for peace, security and prosperity of the country.

Later, he mixed up with the people and exchanged Eid greetings with them.

PUNJAB

In Lahore, the biggest eid congregation was held at Badshahi Mosque, where Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana offered Eid prayer.

SINDH

In Karachi, the main Eid congregation was held at Gulshan-e-Jinnah (Old Polo Ground), where Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair, high ranking officials and diplomats of Islamic countries offered Eid prayer.

After Eid prayer the Governor Sindh exchanged Eid greetings with people while talking to media persons, he extended Eid greetings to the whole nation.

Meanwhile, Eid congregations also held at Nishtar Park, National Stadium, eidgah Nazimabad and T-Ground and other parts of the city.

KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra offered Eid prayer in Peshawar.

BALOCHISTAN

In Quetta, more than 180 Eid prayer congregations were held at open places, parks, mosques, Imambargahs, and Eidgahs, while the main congregation was held at Eidgah Toghi road, Quetta.

Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai offered Eid prayer in his native town Killah Abdullah while the caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan Alauddin Marri in Quetta.
