PESHAWAR Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has formally decided to quit the coalition government in NWFP if the agreed formula regarding governance is not implemented, however, the PPP Parliamentary Leader in the NWFP Assembly, Abdul Akbar Khan denied any such development. The provincial ministers of the PPP have submitted their resignations to the Parliamentary Leader in the NWFP Assembly, Abdul Akbar Khan. Sources informed TheNation that the PPP leaders held an important meeting at the Conference Room of the NWFP Assembly under the chairmanship of the Parliamentary Leader. Political Advisor to the President, Mr Sardar Ali Khan also attended the meeting. Reliable sources informed that the meeting viewed reservations of the party members over the non-compliance of the agreed formula with the ANP regarding governance. The meeting decided that if the PPP members reservations were not addressed and their demands were not met then they would quit the coalition government in the NWFP. The provincial ministers of the party were also asked to submit their resignations and these would be sent to the Governor NWFP if their demands were not met, the sources informed. Talking to the media men and in the NWFP Assembly, Abdul Akbar Khan made it clear that the issue would only be settled if the agreed formula was implemented. He also said that during visit of Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, he also apprised him about the reservations. Now Political Advisor to the President, Sardar Ali Khan has assured him that a meeting of the PPP-NWFP members would be arranged with President Asif Ali Zardari within 10 days. He informed that the party members would follow the decision of Asif Ali Zardari. However, when contacted after the Assembly session on Monday, Abdul Akbar Khan said that no resignation was submitted by the party provincial ministers in this regard.
