Blast creates panic



DERA GHAZI KHAN - A blast on the premises of district courts, close to the DCO office, caused panic among lawyers and litigants while the police claimed that the accused managed the blast other than the target. Following the blast, a number of police personnel and lawyers rushed to the spot, however, the accused could not be traced.
The blast occurred at the time when the court activities were about to end in the afternoon here on Thursday near the bar room at District Council. The Bomb disposal squad also rushed to the spot and declared it a locally made time device which caused no loss. Saddr Police DSP Malik Liaqat said that security had been beefed up in the vicinity. Meanwhile, the DPO said that the accused carried out the blast at a site which didn’t not in the range of CCTV. The Civil Lines Police have registered a case.
Cleric booked for refusal to get kids immunised: On the complaint of the EDO (Health), a case has been registered against a cleric for his refusal to get his children immunised against polio.
Zulfiqar Ali of Jamia Mosque in Aslam Nagar area refused his kids being administered anti-polio vaccine. Headed by Saghir Hameed, a heath team working in the area tried its best to convince the cleric. But their efforts drew a blank. Instead, the cleric threatened the health team and forced it to leave.
