AKU to hold annual emergency medicine conference

KARACHI - Local and international emergency medicine experts will share their knowledge and expertise on “Emergency Care for Children” at the Third Annual Emergency Medicine Conference on Emergency Care for Children on March 16 at Aga Khan University Auditorium.
According to an official of Aga Khan University Hospital, paediatric emergency care is a fast emerging specialty in Pakistan with an intense focus on providing round-the-clock care to critically ill and acutely injured children.
AEMC is an annual event organised by the Department of Continuing Professional Education and Department of Emergency Medicine (WHO Collaborating Centre for Emergency Medicine and Trauma Care) in collaboration with Fogarty Johns Hopkins University-Pakistan International Collaborative Trauma and Injury Research Training Program, Johns Hopkins University.
Previous conference themes have included emergency medical response during natural disasters and road safety and hazards.
EBAD NOMINATES MEMBERS FOR SENATE OF SMIU: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan has nominated Khan Yousuf Jamal, Dr SM Qureshi and Prof Dr Noman Ahmed as members of the Senate of Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) for the period of three years.
In this respect a notification was issued on March 15 by the Sindh governor, in which he exercising his powers vested in him under Section 22 (1) (xiv) of Sindh Madressatul Islam University Act 2011 nominated the above mentioned persons for the Senate of SMIU.
It is pertinent to mention here that Sindh Madressatul Islam was upgraded to the university level on February 16, 2012. After that, its Syndicate was formed, but the important body of Senate was yet to be formed. Now, it too has been come into being.
