PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Engineer Shaukatullah, while appreciating the services and role of minorities in development of the province as well as FATA has assured that every possible effort will be made to ensure wellbeing of the local people.

Talking to a representative delegation of the Christian community hailing from across FATA, which called on him at the Governor’s House, Peshawar, on Friday, the Governor further stated that he will always try his best to remain in contact with them and redress their difficulties, whenever required. Bishop Hamphory Sarfaraz Petor from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was also present on this occasion.

Office-bearers of “Takkarra Qubaili Khwainday”, an NGO engaged in the well being of the women folk of South Waziristan Agency also accompanied under the leadership of its Chief Executive Maryam Bibi and highlighted their working.

Responding to various demands regarding improvement and re-construction of residences meant for Christian community especially at Parachinar, the Governor assured to do the needful during the coming financial year.

Similarly, he also assured to increase the salary of the lady constables of Levy; construction of boundary wall along Christian’s graveyard at Parachinar and provision of the salary of those who are serving in Town Committee Sadda.

Meanwhile, the members of the delegation apprised the Governor about the difficulties being faced by the Christian Community of FATA.
