PAKPATTAN - The local people have lost millions of rupees in purchase of plots in an illegal housing scheme at Fareed City Jamal chowk.
The scheme was launched about 10 years ago. After the launch, its owner pledged to complete the scheme in five years but ran away after receiving full payments from the buyers.
Development of the scheme is still incomplete about 70 percent. The roads of the scheme have been left unconstructed. It also lacks electricity and drainage system. The district government has banned to transfer the property rights of the plots but majority of plots have been transferred illegally. Some influential people have started construction on the plots fixed for school and Park. The people of the area have demanded that officials concerned should take an action against the owner.
